Plötulopi is unspun wool (pencil roving) and is traditionally used to make authentic Icelandic Lopi sweaters. As a yarn, it is fragile and needs to be handled delicately. But once knitted, Plötulopi is surprisingly strong thanks to the unique characteristics of Icelandic wool. Plötulopi can be knitted using one, two or multiple strands held together, resulting in garments that are exceptionally light and airy.
